Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) Summary
For home visiting provider use. 10-question scale identifies parents at risk for “perinatal” depression. While this test was specifically designed for women who are pregnant or have just had a baby, it has also been shown to be an effective measure for general depression in the larger population. Completed prenatally by child’s due date, then 90 days after child is born. Required postnatally on all subsequent births within 90 days.
